Who Is the Frostbound Monarch?

Entombed in the subterranean ice caverns beneath the northern mountains, the Frostbound Monarch is an ancient vampire noble who was frozen centuries ago during the First Vampire Wars in The Blood of Dawnwalker. Confronting him tests your elemental resistance and stamina management within the /guides/30-day-time-system/.

Phase 1: Glacial Greatsword Cleaves (100% – 50% HP)

1. Ice Spire Slam: Drives his greatsword into the ground, summoning a row of erupting ice spikes.
   • Counter: Dodge diagonally toward him and strike his exposed back with weapons from /guides/best-weapons/.
2. Glacial Shield Bash: Charges forward with a crystalline frost shield.
   • Counter: Step aside and use Crimson Nova from /guides/skill-trees/ to shatter the shield.

Phase 2: Howling Blizzard & Permafrost Clones (50% – 0% HP)

At 50% health, the Monarch plunges the entire throne room into a blinding blizzard:

• Blizzard Vortex: Winds whip across the room, steadily filling your Frostbite meter.
  • Strategy: Ignite the central brazier to maintain a safe heat radius.
• Frozen Statue Ambush: Summons two ice sentinels to flank you.
  • Strategy: Use heavy silver cleaves to destroy the statues before refocusing on the Monarch.
