Who Is Xanthe the Dark Mistress?

Xanthe the Dark Mistress reigns as the supreme nocturnal commander of the Royal Bastion’s upper quarter in Act II of The Blood of Dawnwalker. Armed with a massive crimson blood scythe and mastery over phantom illusions, she presents one of the fiercest tests of reaction speed and build optimization in the entire campaign.

Phase 1: Scythe Combos & Shadow Teleports (100% – 50% HP)

In Phase 1, Xanthe glides across the marble floor with high mobility and rapid two-phase strikes:

1. Dual Crescent Sweep: Swings her scythe horizontally twice in rapid succession.
   • Counter: Parry the first swing to cancel the second swing completely.
2. Crimson Guillotine: Leaps high into the air and crashes down with an unblockable vertical shockwave.
   • Counter: Use Mist Dash to blink diagonally behind her landing zone, following up with a heavy silver slash.
3. Blood Mist Veil: Obscures the cathedral in dark fog, reducing your lock-on range.
   • Counter: Activate Predator’s Senses to track her glowing heartbeat through the fog.

Phase 2: Illusion Clones & The Blood Eclipse (50% – 0% HP)

At half health, Xanthe shatters the stained-glass cathedral ceiling, summoning the midnight eclipse:

• Shadow Mirror Quartet: Xanthe splits into four identical illusions across the four corners of the room.
  • How to counter: Look at the floor. The genuine Xanthe casts a distinct shadow. Strike her with a solar flash or silver weapon to dispel all three fakes simultaneously.
• Aerial Scythe Dive: Dives from the ceiling three times in rapid succession.
  • How to survive: Stand still and time three consecutive deflections. The third parry causes a guaranteed poise break.
