The Blood of Dawnwalker Weapon Tier List: Ranked On Evidence, Not DPS
The Blood of Dawnwalker weapon tier list ranked on cross-verified sourcing and documented role, not invented DPS numbers — plus the weapons that do not exist.

How Are Weapons Ranked In This Tier List?
Four questions, in order. This is a ranking of evidence and role, because the data for a damage ranking does not exist publicly as of patch 1.0.0:
- Does the weapon exist in two or more independent sources? If not, it does not get a tier — it goes in the debunked table at the bottom.
- Is its function documented on real card axes? Armor, DPS, Damage against Mortals / Damage against Supernatural, Attack and Block Stamina Cost, Activation Charge Restoration, Max Human / Vampiric Health, Vampiric Ability Cooldown.
- Can you get it on purpose? Fixed quest and boss rewards outrank random loot, because a tier list you cannot execute is trivia.
- Does it survive the form swap? A sword is usable by day and by night; claws are free at night. That is why one upgraded sword anchors a run — the decision framework is on /guides/best-weapons/, this page is only the table.

The Weapon Tier Table (Patch 1.0.0)
| Tier | Weapon | Documented role (real card axes) | How you get it | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | Imbued Sword of St. Mihai | Heavy Damage against Supernatural, reduced Attack Stamina Cost and dodge cost; area weapon art that changes between day and night | Reforge chain: St. Mihai’s tomb, then Forge It Anew with Uriashi, three Kobold-nest shards, quenching rite | Cross-verified (PC Gamer, MapGenie, Game8); stats documented as directions, values not documented |
| A | King’s Slayer | Defensive: reduced Block Stamina Cost; larger perfect-block window reported as +45%, not documented | Buried treasure, river bank west of Svartrau — no map needed, available after the prologue | Cross-verified weapon; the number is single video capture |
| A | Gladius | Damage against Mortals + Max Vampiric Health | Treasure box in the Balaur cave, The Beast of Balaur (climb the cliff at night) | Cross-verified |
| A | The Purge | Survivability longsword: large Max Human Health, attack and block stamina reductions | Loot Bakir’s headhunter camp north of Svartrau, or buy from the Silver Trader | Weapon cross-verified; the DPS/% card is not documented |
| A | Durandal | Reported as efficient: reduced Attack Stamina Cost + Damage against Supernatural (values not documented) | Collapsed bridge, western valley — the quest name attached to it is single-source | Weapon cross-verified; route pending manual review |
| B | Song of Valour | Level 21 Epic Shortsword — the first real upgrade most runs hold, before any legendary chain pays off | Kill /bosses/ambrus/ | Cross-verified boss reward |
| B | Volk’s Sword | Reported ordinary-tier; no documented stats | Named in single-source footage only | Weak sourcing |
| B | Polished Long Cleaver | Reported ordinary-tier; no documented stats | Named in single-source footage only | Weak sourcing |
| N/A | Vampire claws | Not an item — night-form weapon, so it cannot be upgraded or tiered | Free with the form | Confirmed by gameplay captures |
Why Is There No DPS Column?
Weapon cards in this game do print DPS — but nobody publishes the numbers for named weapons. What circulates is one set of on-screen frames: The Purge’s displayed DPS and percentage string, King’s Slayer’s reported perfect-block window increase, Durandal’s affix list. Those are single video capture readings, and loot rolls in this game vary, so the site’s rule is: values that no second source confirms get written as not documented rather than promoted into a ranking table. Inventing a clean base-damage ladder to make the page look authoritative is exactly the failure this revision removed.
What is comparable without numbers, and what the tiers above actually key off:
- Directional defence economy — a block-cheap, perfect-block-reliant weapon beats a harder hitter, because Perfect Riposte turns defence into the guaranteed critical and stamina is your real DPS stat.
- Activation Charge economy — attacks, blocks and parries fill the meter, 3 charges turn it gold, and Charge (1) / Artery Strike (2) spend it. Activation Charge Restoration is therefore a ranking axis even though nobody prints it in a comparison table.
- Target-damage specialisation — Damage against Supernatural for the Vrakhiri fights, Damage against Mortals for the daytime crowd.
- Unblockable tax — no weapon stat fixes a red-marked unblockable attack; you dodge it, so weapon weight matters less than positioning (the discipline every fight in /bosses/brencis/ tests).
How Do Upgrades Change The Order?
A maxed B-tier sword can beat an untouched A-tier one, because quality tier is what the vendor charges against and what the stat line scales on — you pay a blacksmith, armourer or the hermit smith in Denarius, no materials involved. Prices climb with item quality and Coen’s level, running into the thousands late, so the honest reading of this table is “rank of what to invest in”, not “rank of what you find on a corpse”. The flow and the vendor list are on /guides/forging-guide/, and the reason there is no material grind behind any of it is on /items/forging-materials-guide/.
What Changes Position Between Day And Night?
| Phase | What the ranking rewards |
|---|---|
| Day (human) | Sword stats that hold up in long block wars, plus Damage against Mortals; Witchcraft carries ranged damage |
| Night (vampire) | Claws handle the fighting, so Max Vampiric Health, Vampiric Ability Cooldown and Damage against Supernatural on the pieces you still wear matter more than the sword in your hand |
Slots are 4 daytime + 4 nighttime and the swap is automatic, so a two-form build (the reasoning is on /guides/best-builds/) cares about the union of both columns, not the best single-phase weapon. If you only want the short version of which blade to fund, it is on /guides/beginner-guide/ and /guides/best-weapons/.

Which Weapons Are Fake?
These names appear in “Dawnwalker weapon tier lists” elsewhere on the web and in no official or wiki source for this game. They are template placeholder content, listed here so players can recognise and discard them:
| Non-existent weapon | The fabricated mechanic usually quoted with it |
|---|---|
| Sunshard Estoc, Nightfall Greatsword, Dawnforged Longsword, Sanguis Dagger, Bastion Silver Broadsword, Militia Shortsword | Steel/silver weapon categories, percentage “holy damage” bonuses, silver coating oils |
| Any “Fine Silver Broadsword in the prologue miller’s cellar” route | A region and a quest that are not in this game |
| Blood Gauge lifesteal weapons, Faith/Agility scaling grades | Neither a Blood Gauge resource nor a Faith scaling grade exists on weapon cards |
The underlying error is the same one debunked on /items/silver-swords/: silver is a prohibited metal and a black-market commodity in Vale Sangora, not a damage type, and the quest-tied blades that really exist are indexed on /items/legendary-weapons/.
